We often visited longhouses on tributaries of the Limbang river
cradling a baby monkey, rescued from the jungle when its mother died

This balcony is used by all thirteen families. A covered communal area is adjacent and, from this, thirteen 'doors' lead to family living quarters (four/five rooms) which span the width of the longhouse.

Each family has a back door and ladder down to the ground.
